Viae LLC ("Viae", "we", "us") operates Carrier-Aware, Broker-Aware, and Shipper-Aware. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights.
1. Information We Collect
Information you provide:
- Email address — when you check a score, sign up for alerts, or create an account
- USDOT numbers — the carriers you look up or monitor
- Payment information — processed by Stripe; we never see or store your card number
- Account credentials — email and hashed password (Argon2); optional MFA enrollment
Information collected automatically:
- IP address — for rate limiting and abuse prevention; not stored long-term
- Basic analytics — page views and performance metrics via Vercel Analytics (no cookies, no cross-site tracking)
Information we do NOT collect:
- Driver personally identifiable information (CDL numbers, DOB, SSN)
- Location data or GPS tracking
- Third-party advertising cookies
- Social media profiles
2. How We Use Your Information
- Provide the Service — show scores, send alerts, process subscriptions
- Send transactional emails — score results, alerts, account notifications
- Prevent abuse — rate limiting, bot detection
- Improve the Service — aggregate usage patterns (never individual tracking)
We do not sell your information. We do not use your data for advertising. We do not share your email with third parties for marketing.
3. Third-Party Services
We use the following services to operate:

4. Data Retention
- Account data: Retained while your account is active. Deleted within 30 days of account deletion request.
- Lead emails: Retained until you unsubscribe or request deletion.
- Score check history: Retained for service improvement. Anonymized after 13 months.
- Payment records: Retained as required by tax law (typically 7 years).
5. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access — request a copy of the data we hold about you
- Delete — request deletion of your account and associated data
- Correct — update your email or account information
- Opt out — unsubscribe from non-essential emails at any time

6. California Residents (CCPA)
If you are a California resident, you have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act:
- Right to know what personal information we collect and how it's used
- Right to delete your personal information

We implement industry-standard technical and organizational measures to protect your data, including encryption in transit and at rest, secure credential storage, multi-factor authentication support, and regular security reviews. The Service is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

We may update this policy with notice via email or in-app notification. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision.
